Language Course English for ICT Offshoring

Training informatie  Werkwijze

Language is Key to Successful Offshoring

With the offshoring of ICT projects, it is of the utmost importance that communication in English runs smoothly. Mistakes and lack of clarity in written documents have detrimental and sometimes even legal and financial consequences. Miscommunication quite often leads to such problems in the contact with countries and regions like China, India and Eastern Europe. This is mainly caused by a limited knowledge of technical English (ICT and the line of business in which one works) and by insufficient insight into and nderstanding of the cultural context of the country or region where the offshoring partner is located.

Target Group

Employees, who are involved in the offshoring of ICT activities and use English as the official language of communication, such as project managers, project leaders, business analysts, IT engineers, function controllers and test and requirement engineers.

Aim

To develop a good to excellent command of the English language, with the focus on work-related terms and products and use of language in ICT. To gain insight into the use of the English language in the Netherlands. India, China and East Europe.

Content

  • Telephone skills: Conveying a message clearly and to the point.
  • Writing skills: Composing and writing letters, e-mails, technical reports and requirements in English;

Grammar is usually presented and discussed in a supporting role.
